I’m interested in some renovations. Can you help us figure out a budget for our project?

Yes. After a consultation, you’ll have a pricing spreadsheet you can use to create a budget estimate. There is a wide range of pricing for things like furniture and fixtures. It all depends whether you want high end or something closer to the middle or a combination to suit your desired personal investment. This spreadsheet will help you come up with a realistic estimate and range. Regardless of your choice, we remove the mystery of figuring out a budget.

I see you charge a fee for a consultation. Why is that?

Glad you asked. My consultation adds value. From the minute I enter your home, I start looking for ways I can help you avoid many of the common and costly mistakes many people make when undertaking an interior design project. During a consultation, you benefit from over 20+ years of design experience. A consultation will pay for itself many times over. Guaranteed.

How do you charge for your services?

When we meet with you, our priority is to understand why you want to do your project, and what you envision. We take time to evaluate your wish list and priorities, and then, based on what you want and need, we develop a Flat Fee proposal that fits your needs and desires. Our clients have found that they love this model because they decide up front exactly how much they’re comfortable investing, and know that the project will not exceed that amount, unless they decide to change the scope of work.

Why is it so expensive to hire an interior designer?

When clients come to us, they typically want their project designed and customized to their taste, preferences and timeline. Attempts to do their own work, and countless hours to make decisions become frustrating. It looks so easy on HGTV! Mistakes are costly. The wrong scale of sofa or fabric selection can result in replacing an item sooner than planned. Most of our clients are busy professionals who hire us because they don’t have the ability, time or desire to do it themselves, or they’ve tried to do it themselves and quickly realized that even something as seemingly simple as paint selection proved to be a difficult and time-consuming task, with multiple trips to the paint store because they couldn’t find the right shade. They don’t want to go through the time, aggravation and expense of trial and error, with no guarantee that they’ll love what they created.

Do you do small projects?

We offer a service ‘Borrow My Brain’ available in increments of 2 hours that is useful for specific projects such as: space planning, accessory, area rug, and furniture shopping, paint consultation, moving support and other similar tasks.

How long will my project take?

Our extensive experience with similar projects allows us to estimate the length of each phase of a project. Plus, we have a tried and tested team of vendors, subcontractors and contractors that know exactly what we expect and are extremely conscious of customer service, deadlines and quality. Your result is priority, expedited services, an accurate budget and your job getting done on time with the least amount of disruption.

Will you meet with us on evenings and weekends?

We understand that sometimes it’s easier for you to meet outside of work hours. However, we have families, friends and a life outside of the office too. Occasionally we may meet you on evenings and weekends, but do charge a “time and a half” rate for this. Additionally, we can meet at your office during your lunch hour or over Skype.
